Roy F Brittingham Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Roy F. Brittingham, Jr., 91, of Laurel passed away on May 1, 2018 at the Manor House in Seaford where he had lived for the past 2years. Roy was born on Jan. 24, 1927 to Roy F. Sr. and Bertha M. Brittingham, and graduated from Laurel High School Class of 1945. Roy served in the Army and retired from C. C. Oliphant & Sons, in Laurel. He was a member of Centenary UM Church in Laurel. Roy enjoyed his retirement by traveling with his wife, spending winters in Florida, and living in Bethany Beach for 30 years. He also enjoyed playing dominoes, golfing, fishing, bowling with family and friends. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Carolyn Lynch Brittingham, two daughters, Ann Lee (Randy) of Laurel and Joan Marvel (Ron) of Seaford. He is also survived by granddaughter, Amanda Lowe-Whaley (Jeff) of Laurel and step-grandson, Joel Marvel (Michelle) of North Carolina. Roy is also survived by great-grandchildren, Taylor Lowe and Lukas Whaley and step-great-grandchildren, Katelin and Jacob Marvel. Roy is also survived by a sister-in-law, Ellen Jane Brittingham, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roy is predeceased by a brother, Charles Brittingham. A service will be held at Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, on Friday, May 4th at 11:00 am where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Dean Perdue and Rev. Paul Rosa will officiate. Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, West St., Laurel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Centenary UM Church, Capital Improvement Fund, 200 W. Market St., Laurel DE 19956.
