Mary Elsie Shea

Mary Elsie (Ellis) Shea was born in Paris, France in 1953 to the family of a career U.S. Air Force General Officer. She graduated from the University of Florida in 1975 and in 1980 was honorably named Queen of the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben, an Omaha, NE philanthropic organization. Mary Elsie traveled extensively throughout the world having lived in 6 different countries. Along with her parents, she acted as ambassador for Airmen and their families as well as U.S. Presidents. In 1981, Mary Elsie married her best friend, Daniel Shea and together, they provided a loving family for their two sons, Daniel Ryan Shea and Richard Kelly Shea. She is also survived by her two brothers, Joe Wolcott and Rick Ellis, and her beloved niece Laurel Leigh Ellis. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 29 at 2:00 pm, at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel, DE.
