Linda Diana Smith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Laurel: Linda Diana Smith, 67, of Laurel passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Born in Milford, DE on February 2,1954, she was the daughter of the late Samuel & Ella Mae Darby Hummer. After high school, she began a lifelong career in accounting & bookkeeping. For the last nearly 30 years, Linda has been in the Finance Division of TidalHealth, Inc. at Salisbury, prior to joining them, she had worked for Discount Land and Johnny Janosik of Laurel. She was a member of Bay Shore Community Church in Millsboro. She loved flowers and enjoyed working in her flower bed at home, Linda especially loved to attend her grandson's baseball games and her granddaughter's cheer leading competitions. Linda loved well and was well loved. Her greatest joy was her family. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Gary L. Smith, Sr., whom she married on June 5, 1971; a son - Gary L. (Cheryl) Jr.; a daughter - Kelly Joseph (Fiance' Brian Colligan); a brother - Wayne Hummer (Linda); a sister - Mary Shrieves'; 2 grandchildren - Elijah & Faith Smith; sisters-in-law -- Trudy Smith, Robin Smith and Deborah Wilkerson (Bob); a brother-in-law -- Wayne Smith (Barbara); several nieces & nephews and many friends that she considered family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Bay Shore Community Church, Millsboro on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 1 P.M. Pastor Danny R. Tice will officiate. A visitation will be held at the church 1 hour prior to the service.
