Janice Cooper Littleton

Janice Cooper Littleton, age 72, of Laurel, passed away at her home on June 9, 2021. Born in Salisbury, Maryland, she is the daughter of the late Benjamin R. Cooper and Frances Taylor Cooper. She graduate from James M. Bennett High School and during her high school years, she enjoyed participating as a cheerleader and as a majorette, and held the title of Miss Salisbury Fire Prevention Queen. Her love for music and high school bands allowed her to continue her passion as the Laurel High School and Jr. High School Band Front Coach for many years. Janice was a merchandise supervisor with The American Greeting Card Company serving the Tri-State area. When she wasn't working, she had a passion for embroidery, she was the director and coordinator for the Exchange Club's Miss Laurel Pageants, and the Laurel Fire Department Fire Prevention Queen Pageants. Her first love was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whom was always there to cheer them on, especially supporting her daughter Carrie during her pageant years and winnings, as well as through her daughters illnesses. Janice is survived by her loving husband, James Grover Littleton; daughter, Carrie Steelman and her husband Jamie; grandson, A.J. Steelman; step-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Steelman, step-great granddaughter, Kennedy Steelman, and her furbabies, Winston, and Miley. A celebration of life will be held on July 17, 2021 from 1pm-3pm at the Laurel American Legion Post #19. A visitation will be held from 12:30 pm-1:00 pm. Arrangements are in the care of the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel, Delaware.
