Edward Leroy Conaway

March 3, 1939 - February 9, 2020

Edward Leroy Conaway, age 80, of Laurel, passed away on February 9, 2020 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 3, 1939, a son of the late Catharine and Elwood Conaway. Leroy was a member of Shiloh Church, Odd Fellows Charity Lodge in Laurel, and the Army Reserves. He had worked at Arrow Safety in Georgetown, NCR in Millsboro, and retired from Mitchell's Furniture Store in Laurel. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Conaway; his son Bob Conaway and his wife Starr; granddaughter Samantha Passwaters and her husband Chad; great-granddaughters, Emma, Khloe, Hannah; sisters, Pat Foraker and her husband Curt, and Carolyn Watson; several nieces and nephews also survive him. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home 700 West Street, Laurel, DE 19956. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am-11:00 am at the funeral home. Reverend Mark Erskine will officiate. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel. The Conaway family would like to express there deepest appreciation for the compassionate care Mr. Conaway and their family received.
