Calvin O Hearn Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Calvin O. Hearn, of Laurel, Delaware passed away on October 22, 2020. Calvin was born in Delmar, DE a son of the late Marion H. Hearn and Mary Taylor Hearn Cooper. Calvin retired from the DuPont Company and as was in the poultry industry. He was a member of the former Christ United Methodist Church, serving as the adult choir director, adult handbell director and Sunday school teacher. He was a life member of the Laurel Fire Department, were he was Treasurer and past President. A member of Charity Lodge #27 I.O.O.F. served as Vice Grand and Noble Grand. He was also a member of Grand Lodge of DE, were he served as Warden, Deputy Grandmaster ad Grandmaster and at present was the Grand Musician. Calvin is survived by his wife Leatrice Poyner Hearn of Laurel. His sons, Gordon (Dauna) and Steven (Michelle) both of Seaford. His grandchildren, Jessica (Andy), Benjamin (Hannah), Nichole, Kyle (Heather), Korey (Leanne), Kole (Elisha). His great grandchildren Amelia, Leo, Kennedy, Olivia, Gracie, Trey, Kaiden, and Alorah. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings, John, James and Samuel. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday October 27, 2020 in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel, Delaware at 1:00 pm. The Rev. Barbara Wilson will officiate. An Odd Fellows service will also begin at 1:00 pm. Contributions and be made in Calvin’s memory to the: Odd Fellows Charity Lodge 27 P.O. Box 146 Laurel, DE 19956.
