Alan C. Smith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Alan C. Smith, age 66, of Laurel, passed away at his home on Saturday, March 9, 2019. Born in Seaford, Delaware, he is the son of Stanley and Jean Smith of Laurel. He graduated from Laurel High School, and after graduation attended University of Delaware. Alan owned and operated the Mr. Sudds Community Laundry in Laurel and was known as “Super Tech”, for his talent that enabled him to fix most anything that was broken. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time with his family on the Nanticoke River as well as Fenwick Island. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Nancy Smith; his son, Scott Smith and his wife Lindsey; his grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, and Reagan Smith; his sister, Valerie Smith; his brother Robert Smith and his wife Dana, his godson Matt Dolby, and several nieces and nephews also survive him. A celebration of life will be held at 5:30 pm on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 200 West Market Street, Laurel, Delaware 19956. A visitation will be held at the church from 4:00 pm-5:30 pm. Reverend Dean Perdue will officiate. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alan Smith’s memory to Laurel High School “Band Department”, C/O Ashley Pugh, 1133 S. Central Avenue, Laurel, Delaware 19956.
